Partners in life and art, Norhaizad Adam and Hasyimah Harith (P7:1SMA) reveal the artistic process behind Berahi: Holy Unions, opening up and questioning the cultural codes that shape how intimacy, desire, modesty, and eroticism are embodied, revealed, and reimagined through the performing body.

Berahi: Holy Unions traces the spectrum between modesty and erotic charge — from fleeting flirtation to the intensity of berahi (sexual arousal in Malay). Through bodily ritual, poetic gesture, and movement research framed by a historical-sociological lens, the work draws inspiration from Perhimpunan Gunawan bagi Laki-Laki dan Perempuan (1911), a Malay compendium of charms for men and women by Khadijah Terung.
