Hasyimah Harith
Hasyimah Harith is a Singapore-based Malay-Muslim artist who performs, choreographs, and teaches Malay folk dance. Working from the body as archive and site of agency, she engages Malay tradition and eroticism as strategies for reclaiming female desire.
Her practice confronts the shame and silence surrounding female sensuality through fantasy, intimacy, and embodied research. She is Company Manager of P7:1SMA, an Associate Artist of Dance Nucleus, a Visual Arts educator, and an Artist-Facilitator at ART:DIS.
